Day 26 – Bathampton to Devizes

From the river Avon to the Vale of Pewsey. We spent virtually all day walking on the Kennet & Avon Canal, so very minimal route finding but we had to contend with some pretty wet weather for a few hours in the middle of the day.

At the start of the day, we were joined by a suicide-bereaved family and people from Boys in Mind, Girls Mind Too, a local charity who are doing fantastic work with young people helping them to deal with emotions and the challenges of growing up in this day-and-age.

Later in the day various other people dipped into and out of our walk; our supporters kept us well-distracted from the job in hand...walking 600 miles to Westminster. We were also delighted to bump into Katy Pearson - she’s riding her bike from Poole in Dorest to New Mills in the Peak District, going home by a circuitous route and raising funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and a local homeless charity. Please take a look at what she’s doing and support her if you can - https://www.gofundme.com/f/katy-goes-home

Over the new 2 days we will largely be walking on the same canal, so, if you live anywhere near, please come out and say hello as we pass by.

Finally, please find out more about the petition, share and sign to help us save lives.
