Awards in Norfolk

Tim’s contribution to 3 Dads Walking has been recognised recent at two local awards events in Norfolk.

At the EDP Stars of Norfolk and Waveney Awards held in Norwich Cathedral Tim was awarded Charity Hero of the Year which was presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, Lady Dannatt MBE. A few months later at the YLP Local Hero Awards at the Corn Exchange in King’s Lynn he was awarded Fundraiser of the Year Award, presented by Simon Weston CBE. Both were excellent events and thanks goes to the organisers and sponsors for their efforts in ensuring both were nights to remember. Tim was humbled to be in the presence of so many other award finalists and winners who have all done such great work across the community.

The YLP Local Hero Awards were particularly special for Tim as his daughter, Evie, also won an award for Young Person of the Year, in recognition of the thousands of pounds she had raised for Norfolk and Waveney MIND.

The need for PAPYRUS and other charities providing such vital support is massive. Just as Tim was leaving the YLP Awards a lady approached him and asked for details of PAPYRUS’s HOPELINEUK (0800 068 4141) for a loved one. Tim was able to show his PAPYRUS wristband and she took a photo of this live-saving number. That is why Tim, Mike and Andy, will continue walking…………..
