The Last Photo - CALM

Tim and Mike visited the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)’s latest campaign. A powerful display of 50 photographs together with their stories on the Southbank in London of people who have all taken their own lives.

Andy couldn’t be in London so Mike and Tim ensured Sophie was remembered.

The Last Photo campaign highlights that suicide doesn’t always look suicidal and behind every smiling photograph there is a person who had those suicidal thoughts and tragically followed them through. It asks for people to start that conversation as it may just save a life.

It also points to the horrendous statistic that 125 people die by suicide every week.

It was a very emotional display and one which caught people’s attention as they walked to work, went for their morning run, or passed on their way to visit a tourist attraction. The impact was intensified if people stopped and talked to us and realised that those photos were our daughters. We need to keep talking.
