3 Dads Walking 2024 Day 8 - Longhorsley to Gosforth

Walking from rural Northumbria into north Newcastle.

Morpeth was more than welcoming, many people came out to join us and put cash in our bucket. The rolling hills and farmland of Northumbria gave way to a world of tarmac and concrete as we left the town.

The route south took us along the A1 and Old Great North Road, a very direct way to get south but busy and noisy. It was a relief to get to Seaton Burn where the traffic volume and noise died down and we started to meet more people.

We were greeted warmly when we reached Gosforth then Annessa, our host for the evening, took us to a great pub (0.41 miles further down the road.....). Beer followed by a curry – a wonderful way to finish Day 8.
