Day 2 Kendal to Wennington

Another great day walking, which we loved but, yet again, the highlight was the people we met along the route. So many people with powerful and emotive things to say, some hunting us down using the tracker, reaching out to us to offer support, share their stories and feel comfortable talking to parents who knew precisely how they were feeling.

There are so many of us out there – we really need to connect. We need to find a way to link bereaved families & friends together, firstly for their own mental well-being and secondly to collectively prevent as many suicides as possible.

Our message of hope, suicide prevention and introducing PAPYRUS continues to go far-and-wide. We are receiving messages from all over the world, never mind just the UK. The HOPELINEUK team are taking calls from people who reference #3dadswalking as inspiration – spreading the word is saving lives. Please keep talking.

We’ve also had plenty of laughs along the route, the highlight being the motorcyclist who stopped us outside Kirkby Lonsdale saying “Are you the 3 lads?”….”No, we’re the 3 Dads”…”Walking for cancer?”…”No, suicide prevention”…”Never mind, here’s twenty quid”! Thanks, mate – you have a big heart.

Finally, thanks to Teena & Malcolm from Tatham Lodge, Burton-in-Lonsdale, for providing a warm welcome and hearty meal. Perfect after another day of #3dadswalking. We couldn’t be more appreciative for their friendly support.
