3 Dads Walking 2024 Day 10 - Durham to Greystones

An unusual start to the day. Rather than start walking at 7.30am sharp we remained at Durham Cathedral until we were joined by Sir Keir Starmer. Keir took time out of his time campaigning for the local elections to come and talk to us about what we have learnt to understand what we are asking for with our call to make suicide prevention a compulsory part of the school curriculum.

Our start was delayed by over an hour....but it was well worth it.

We then marched south. We were joined by a number of people as we went on, many surprised by the speed we were moving (trying to make up for lost time!).

Our evening accommodation at the George at Piercebridge was arranged by Tracey and Dave of Quinn’s Retreat. At dinner we were joined by a group of people who had all been touched by suicide, it make for a very tender and emotional evening; it also gave us yet more inspiration to keep shouting for change. Suicide is the biggest killer of our young people – we have to do something about it!
